Guide to Profiting from TikTok

Brainstorming Ideas for TikTok Videos

Once your account is set up on the TikTok platform, and you have done your research to see which keywords and hashtags you should target, you want to begin brainstorming ways to cater to the audience and hopefully make your videos go viral.

Going viral on TikTok is a great way to gain more followers, increase the amount of influence you have, and get people to click on the link in your bio. Ideally, that bio link will take them to your lead magnet page, where you will be offering a freebie in exchange for them handing over their contact details as a new subscriber so you can market to them later.

When a video goes viral on TikTok, it’s often shown on what’s known as the “for you page” for people who aren’t remotely interested in that topic. The “for you page” or FYP for short is basically the user’s feed.

It’s what they see without having to enter anything into the search bar as they scroll through the app. So what kinds of videos should you be making in order to gain traction on this app?

The first thing you want to do is see how others are faring with their ideas. You can openly copycat people on TikTok. It’s not only encouraged but enjoyed by others when you do this using the same sounds and putting your own spin on it.

You are going to find a wide variety of styles and ideas for TikTok videos. When it comes to styles, you’ll find some people are very serious, some people are emotional, others have fun and turn their video into a comedy routine of sorts, and some are very nurturing as they guide their audience.

For example, you may have one survival TikTok account who is very serious about sharing information on how to create a bug out bag. But another account may share great tips, but also have the ability to insert humor into the situation.

An example of this may be showing how their German Shepherd chewed up their supposedly sturdy bug out bag and devoured all of the beef jerky that was packed inside.

It’s okay to have a mix of styles and ideas on your account. It’s human nature for people to want to see things mixed up from time to time. It mirrors a person’s true personality, because we all have moments where we are laughing, crying or indifferent about a topic.

One of the best things you can do is pick up on the trends within TikTok. You can actually search for what’s trending in terms of hashtags on TikTok and then create a video of your own based on the same sound, but using your information.

One of the best examples of this that people have used in different niches is a sound on TikTok called, “have you ever been in love?” The dialogue of the sound, paired with a little bit of light music in the background, starts out asking, “have you ever been in love?”

The response from the other person is, “I don’t think so.” Then the original person asks “do you want me to describe it to you?” When people on TikTok use the sound in their video, they are often showing you exactly what it is that makes their life complete.

So, for instance you may see a video playing that sound and in the beginning, a man is simply standing there holding his cute little golden retriever. After the dialogue of the sound stops playing and the music continues, the user then shows a flash of many clips or pictures of what it’s like to own that dog and all of the happy moments that are shared.

Sometimes the sounds themselves, such as the one above, will set the tone and mood for the people who are watching your video. So you can have sounds that are funny, sentimental, warnings, and more.

You can also create your own sound and not rely on anyone else to have uploaded one. You can even allow your sound to be used by others, which isn’t a bad idea if your video goes viral. Many users will look for the original posting of the sound to see what it was all about.
